I haven't tested how that works when another users needs to load a link added by myself. The biggest downside I can see to this is having to use Desktop Connector to link IFC and DWG files to Revit projects. This would also mean that our project folders would split, placing all CAD files such as rvt, ifc, and dwg in Autodesk Docs and the rest in Sharepoint. We would work online for the most part and synk project folders locally as needed to work on Adobe files, Twinmotion etc.įor Revit we'd move the files to BIM Collaborate Pro to get rid of the VPN issue and hopefully learn to take advantage of everything else included in that suite. I have a completed test environment set up and it seems to work very well. My thoughts right now are to migrate our entire library to Sharepoint and remove the server entirely. This is our bottleneck, and the pandemic made it very obvious when we had the entire office at home at the same time. We have a traditional file server where we host everything, including central files, and use VPN when not in the office to access the server. We're about to do some changes to our IT environment and I'm wondering if anyone has some good pointers on how to create the best performing and cost effective set up possible.Ĭurrently we are 15 workers in a single office working about 50/50 on site and from home.
Here is what I've done:Ĭreated up-to-date AVAST emergency recovery/scanner drive. I had him immediately turn off the computer and get it to me. One of my customers reported that someone took over his computer, was moving the mouse, closing windows, etc. One of the more interesting events of April 28th Reason not to focus solely on death and destruction today.
